Description
The European Union is proud to welcome four award-winning participants from the 2024 edition of the EU Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) to Expo 2025 Osaka. These talented young researchers will present their innovative scientific projects at the EU Pavilion, offering visitors a unique opportunity to engage with some of Europe’s brightest scientific minds.
During their visit, the young scientists will:
- Present their work to Expo visitors in short “TED-style” talks (public session in the afternoon)
- Participate in an exchange workshop with young Japanese researchers (private session in the morning)
- Meet stakeholders from Japan’s education and research sectors, including universities, ministries, and research institutions
This initiative reinforces the EU’s long-standing commitment to promoting science among young people and to fostering EU–Japan cooperation in research and innovation.
Participating scientists:
- Kamilė Milkintaitė (Lithuania): Towards Improved Brain Tumour Treatment: Novel Therapeutic and Diagnostic Targets
- Márton Krisztián Hegedűs (Hungary): Photocatenane – Robotics on the Molecular Level
- Janis Bojko (Czech Republic): Synthesis of New Selective-Dual Inhibitors of Cyclin-Dependent Kinases
- Ludmila Kvasnovska (Slovakia): Potential Biomarkers of Age-Related Chronic Inflammation
A live interpretation service will be provided. The event is organised in collaboration with the EU Member States involved in EUCYS.
